Greg Van Ness became CEO of Tolman & Wiker Insurance Services, LLC in August, 2012. Greg’s experience spans a 25 year insurance brokerage career that includes property & casualty insurance sales and risk consulting at private and publicly traded insurance brokerages. Formerly, Greg served as Regional Managing Director for Wells Fargo Insurance Services from 1999-2012 and led a 7 office territory in Northern & Central California and Northern Nevada that generated over $60 million in annual revenue. Greg also served as Manager of Executive Development for The Interpublic Group in New York City, one of the world’s largest advertising and marketing companies. He is a graduate of UCSB and has completed executive degree programs at New York University and The Wharton School of Business, University of Pennsylvania.
Vance Taylor, CPA

Vance Taylor specializes in finance, and is the manager of the accounting department. He is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the finance department including financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, accounts payable and accounts receivable, and administering the company’s pension and 401k plans. Previous roles include CFO for Near North Insurance Brokerage’s California operations; Controller for Cal-Surance; Accounting Manager for Fremont Compensation; Supervisor/Auditor for KPMG; and CFO for Alfred Publishing Company in addition to holding executive financial positions with other distribution and manufacturing companies. Vance attended the University of Utah, where he received a B.S. in Accounting. Vance holds the designation of C.P.A. and is also a licensed insurance agent. In addition, he is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA). Vance joined Tolman & Wiker Insurance in 2008.

Joanna Hayes oversees all aspects of the HR department and specializes in aligning HR strategies with the business strategies and goals of the company. She has over 18 years of experience in human resources and business management. Previous roles include Pacific Coast Regional Manager for Fugro Consultants, an international consulting firm, and Human Resources Manager for Registration Control Systems, an entrepreneurial company specializing in tradeshow registration and lead retrieval services. Joanna is a graduate of U.C.S.B.’s extension program in HR management and holds a SPHR-CA certification. She is experienced in all aspects of HR management including Compensation & Benefits, Employee & Labor Relations, Leaves of Absence, Worker’s Compensation and Safety and Security issues. Joanna joined Tolman & Wiker Insurance Services, LLC in 2012.

Ron Cossa is serving as Interim Branch Manager in our Santa Maria office, a role that he accepted in mid-September, 2013. Ron specializes in the construction industry and workers’ compensation. He holds a BS in Commerce & Marketing from Santa Clara University in Santa Clara, CA. Ron’s designations include Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC) and Associate in Claims (AIC). He is a Board Member of the Santa Maria Valley Contractors Association, the First Tee Central Coast, and the Marian Medical Foundation, as well as the associates committee of the Association of General Contractors. His prior associations include Senior Property Claims Adjuster with Allied Insurance. Ron joined InWest Insurance Services in 1998, which later merged with Tolman & Wiker Insurance Services.
