On March 3-5 of this year, a group of dedicated managers descended on the San Antonio, TX area to attend the 2016 NetVU Conference. This conference is put on by NetVU (Network of Vertafore Users) for the purposes of learning new skills, discover emerging trends and technologies, and connecting with fellow Vertafore users.

Kevin Dickmann (IT) has been attending the annual conference since 1998 and recently stepped down as the President of the California chapter of NetVU. He states that every year, he learns ways that our agency can get more out of our Vertafore software. Kevin also feels that the connections he has made with other users have been very valuable resources for questions that come up throughout the year.

This year, Kevin was joined by Dennis Corte (CFO), Vance Taylor (Acctg), Annie Garcia (PL), Elena Amaro (CL), Denise Sutton (CL), Jenna Farrell (CL), Julie Lindsey (CL – BK), and Derrick Caron (EB).

The biggest takeaways seem to be the “Favorites” feature on the To-Do List in ImageRight, several attendees have already implemented this feature and find it very helpful in prioritizing their tasks. Another consensus from the group was excitement around the coming upgrades to WorkSmart and the need to continue training and making sure we are using the software to its fullest capacity. Our staff was able to network with representatives from carriers and vendors. While the conference was focused on education and work discussions, the overall atmosphere was focused on enjoying the experience.

The closing speaker was JR Martinez (Dancing With the Stars) who got great reviews. Most folks even got to experience some San Antonio culture by visiting the Alamo! This year was Annie’s first time attending, and she says that she was impressed with how well-regarded Kevin was and how his, Dennis’ and Derrick’s involvement with Vertafore has really paid off for us as an agency by virtue of the relationships they have built with the NetVU community.
