Guest Speakers:

JILLIAN OSTROVE, Deputy District Attorney

Jillian Ostrove is a Deputy District Attorney, exclusively handling Worker’s Compensation fraud. While a new addition to the office, Jillian has a background in defending insurance companies against worker’s compensation claims for one of the largest insurance defense firms in California. With a passion for prosecuting worker’s compensation fraud, she spends a substantial amount of time conducting outreach meetings with the hope that expanding knowledge regarding this crime will ultimately result in not only greater awareness and an increased prosecution rate, but that the amount of fraudulent worker’s compensation claims will decrease, saving our community substantial money.

GARY GEMBERLING, Deputy District Attorney

Gary Gemberling is the lead Deputy District Attorney for the Worker’s Compensation and Auto Fraud Unit. With over 20 years experience in the worker’s compensation field, including representing insurance companies against worker’s compensation claims, Gary is a top notch authority when it comes to all topics concerning worker’s compensation fraud. As a Deputy District Attorney for Santa Barbara County, he proactively and aggressively seeks prosecution of applicant fraud, premium fraud, and provider fraud, which has resulted in nearly a 90% County-wide conviction rate.
