Heat Illness Prevention Program Review
Wednesday, March 16th, 2016
9:30 AM – 12:00 PM (Spanish)
With today’s unusual weather patterns one day we can be in triple digits and the next day or week it can be cool or overcast. It is now more important than ever to look at our Heat Illness Prevention Program. This is especially important as we enter the summer months. Did you know employees are at greater risk of suffering from a heat related illness or even death during the first day and first week of a heat wave?
Please join us as we review the new requirements under the revisions to the heat standard that went into effect on May 1, 2015.

The findings highlighted the value of training supervisors so that they can make the fullest use of their supervisory power to control safety on the job.* Do you and your supervisors know how the recent changes to the heat standard impact your obligations with respect to:
- Potable drinking water
- Shade requirements
- Cool-down rest periods
- High heat procedure requirements
- Emergency response procedures
- Responding to signs and symptoms of a heat illness
- Training for supervisors and employees
- The written Heat Illness Prevention Plan
- Requirements specific to agricultural employers
