The ability to communicate clearly and concisely is often cited as the most important skills that a supervisor can possess to help create a coordinated and organized workforce. This is true if the supervisor has first established trust and respect with his or her crew. “No one cares how much you know until they know how much you care” is a truism that is frequently overlooked or underrated.


Supervisors are key to the success of any operation but often they have not been properly trained on how to communicate or on how they communicate with their employees! This can lead to a host of problems not the least of which can be morale problems which can in turn have a tremendous negative impact on workplace safety, employee litigation rates, production, quality and your ability to be competitive and meet your obligations on time.

  • The various ways supervisors communicate with their employees and how that ties into good, engaged, safety conscious employees, good quality and productivity
  • How poor communication and disrespecting an employee, actual or perceived, can lead to problems afflicting specific departments, facilities or an entire company
  • The potential for problems as a result of poor communication, including a poor safety record, low productivity, poor quality and high employee turnover rates or high employee litigation rates and more!
